My Life with an American Bully Puppy | Teething Tips & Real Talk
Today was one of those moments I’ll never forget as a fur-parent—Escobar just lost his baby tooth! 🦷😭 Yep, my American Bully pup officially hit another milestone… nabungi na si Escobar! And as simple as it may seem, it honestly hit me with a mix of emotions—joy, awe, and a tiny bit of “my baby is growing up too fast” feels.
Let me tell you all about it…

Watching My Bully Puppy Grow: One Tooth at a Time 🐶
If you’ve been following our journey, you already know that Escobar is more than just a pet—he’s my emotional support dog and daily dose of joy here in my little #MicroLivingPH setup. Life in a small city condo has its limitations, but raising an American Bully like Escobar in it? It’s been surprisingly beautiful.
This week, while he was sound asleep (snoring softly, of course 😅), I noticed something odd—one of his baby teeth was loose. And guess what? With a gentle tug, it came right off. He didn’t even wake up! I was shocked but also amazed. It was such a tender moment, and I couldn’t believe how calm he was.
Why Do Puppies Lose Their Teeth?
Just like human babies, puppies go through a teething phase. Around 3 to 6 months old, they start losing their baby teeth to make way for their permanent adult teeth. This phase can be a bit uncomfortable for them, which is why teething toys are a lifesaver (for both pup and furniture 😅).
For American Bullies—who have powerful jaws—this stage is crucial. Their adult teeth will help define their bite and chewing strength. Making sure they have safe, durable teething toys can prevent them from chewing random things and soothe their gums.
My Teething Tips for Bully Puppies:
Here’s what helped Escobar (and saved my hands from becoming chew toys):
✅ Soft Rubber Chew Toys – Perfect for his tender gums
✅ Frozen Treats – Cold helps numb the discomfort
✅ Lots of Patience and Praise – Celebrate even the small milestones
✅ Gentle Tooth Removal (if needed) – Only if it's already loose and painless
Real Talk: Raising a Bully in the City 🏙️
A lot of people ask me if it’s practical to raise an American Bully in a condo unit. My answer? Absolutely, with love and routine. Escobar may be stocky and strong, but he’s gentle, clingy, and perfectly content with our daily walks, playtime, and cuddle sessions on the couch.
Documenting moments like this tooth incident reminds me how much I’ve grown too—not just as a pet owner, but as a human learning patience, responsibility, and unconditional love.
Escobar losing a tooth might seem like a small thing, but it’s a big deal for me. These moments are fleeting and precious. Soon he’ll be full-grown, with a strong adult bite and an even stronger bond with me. And I’ll always remember this stage—when he was still my little “bunso,” discovering the world one tooth at a time.
