Small Youtubers in the Philippines React on Additional Changes to the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).

On January 16, 2018, Youtube released a pronouncement that there will be a new qualification of becoming part of Youtube Partner Program (YPP).  The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) lets creators monetize their content on YouTube. Creators can earn money from advertisements served on their videos and from YouTube Red subscribers watching their content. On Youtube Creator Blog, it has been mentioned that for you to qualify the YPP, a channel must have at least 1000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time in the past 12 months.

Originally, this “qualification approach” of Youtube was initially started in second quarter of 2017 wherein a channel must have 10,000 lifetime views to get monetized, but later on changed into this recent threshold.  Upon posting the said news, it earned a massive and shocking reaction especially to those thriving small channels.

In the Philippines, the most active group of content creators is Youtube Vloggers Ph wherein most of the members are small youtubers; and got affected negatively to this major change. Some took it as a challenge but some became de-motivated as they really worked hard to achieve the first qualification – 10k lifetime views, yet YT changed the threshold it right away.

Truly, becoming an online creator now is not easy anymore in comparison to the previous years passed by. I am fortunate that I signed up Youtube Partner Program earlier and I was able to monetize my videos without those thresholds. However, this qualification is applicable also to all existing partner – that when I didn’t reach the qualification, my partnership might forfeited. Aside from qualifications, the fast growth of number of small youtubers became a challenge to each individual as Youtube community turned into a jungle of creative people, spammers, bad actors and etcetera.

Watch this video as I am going to tackle this issue in my “10th POWER Series– Episode 4”.

What are your takeaways on this new change?

I’ve been using Gay Social Dating sites for almost 15 years now as I started to use it when I was 17.Recently; Gay dating became easier as various apps became available right in your phone.  I must admit that part of growing; I was once an active user of such online dating feature.

I can still remember how I was willing to meet random guys that I’ve talked online. I allowed them to enter my life as I was under the impression that online dating is a way for me to find my better half. At first, it failed and I tried, and failed and tried again. The history kept repeating and unconsciously I was addicted to it.

Until ... at my age of 30, I’m becoming more mature and got a different way of seeing things. I decided to delete these apps in my phone wherein one time – it poisoned my youngness. For the span of 15 years of using -both gay dating sites and apps, meeting random guys and sleeping with them; I never ever got any benefits aside from the satisfaction of my carnal needs.  Indeed, It didn’t boost me as Jonathan Orbuda at all.

But I was still thankful because, involving myself to such apps made me experience on how to become more socially incline to diverse people that I’ve met. I was able to experience, masasabi kong hindi rin ako naging ignorante. But, I’m done with it.

Watch the video below as I’ll delete all my Gay Dating Apps in my phone. I will also tell you my top 10 reasons why I decided to stop this kind of activity.

To all young ones, please share this video because I made this – just for you. I’m happy that I was able to make this stage. And now masasabi, graduate na ako. Dating is a stage of romantic relationships in humans whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other's suitability as a prospective partner in an intimate relationship. And by using Dating Apps is not advisable because it lessen the meaning of DATING.

THANK YOU GUYS.

🏳️‍🌈 Openly Gay Cop from New York Tries Filipino Delicacies,

Carlos is all the way from U.S. and he dropped-by in my place to visit me. I offered him some Filipino Delicacies and let him eat those. Carlos Crespo also known as Tony is one of the 69 police officers awarded a medal of valor. Indeed, he is the first openly-gay cop who received it due to his heroic act when he was still there.

According to New York Times , Officer Crespo was working at the 24th Precinct on the Upper West Side on Sept. 5, 1995, when a knife-wielding man lunged at another officer. As his colleague fought with the attacker, Officer Crespo tried to knock the knife away and was stabbed in the chest. He and another officer then shot the intruder dead, but a stray bullet hit Officer Crespo in the knee. Officer Crespo suffered a collapsed lung and was out of action for four months.

After 20 years of service, he retired and start travelling and creating video for his channel. And now, he is visiting Philippines. I am honoured to have him in my channel.

In this video, I let him try the popular Filipino Delicacies –eg, Chicaron, Yema, Piaya, Sampaloc, Tira-Tira, Banana Chips, Penoy and Balot. Chicharrón is a dish generally consisting of fried pork belly or fried pork rinds; chicharrón may also be made from chicken, mutton, or beef. While Yema is a type of Filipino candy named after the Spanish term for egg yolks – mixed of condense milk.

Piaya sometimes spelled piyaya, is a muscovado-filled unleavened flatbread from the Philippines especially common in Negros Occidental where it is a popular delicacy. It is made by filling dough with a mixture of muscovado and glucose syrup. The filled dough is then flattened with a rolling pin, sprinkled with sesame. Sampaloc is a sweetened tamarind. Tira-tira is made of old coconut cooked in brown sugar. And Banana Chips are chopped fried banana with glaze. Lastly, Penoy is an unfertilized duck egg without yolk formation when screened against a lighted candle or electric bulb also known as the candling process; while balut is the fertilized one.

2017 YEAR-END SPECIAL - I Love Tansyong TV REWIND.

One year of joy, laughter and fun. There were times that I was down but 2017 gave me the lesson - never give up on my dreams. Indeed, I must say while looking back to my 2017, I’ve changed on how I should see life.

When I was not in Youtube, I spent my time going to work and writing articles for my blog; and when I was introduced into Youtubing , I enjoyed it a lot. My creativity became more dynamic and I am excited going to work as I have something to look forward after I ended my shift – doing contents for my Youtube Channel when I arrived at home.

I had so many things to be grateful in my 2017. I have my challenging yet stable job that pays my bill, I was able to purchase my first ever camera, I was able to have my Samsung s8 Plus, and above all – I made it on Youtube while I am a full-time employee. Moreover, I am now living in my own condo unit, and I got sick only twice for the whole year. I met a lot of random people as I became more socially incline because of the numerous events that I attended.

I was able to attend my Alumni Home Coming in Province of Bohol, and joined Fiesta Celebration. I won in a Dance Battle.  I became a Pedicab Driver for a day. I got my first brand deal in 2017 (Shopback)  and followed by more opportunities after (booking.com, Urban Deca Homes). It was truly a challenging year yet a fruitful one in a positive note. I became conscious on time management since I am a full-time employee and a part-time youtuber and blogger. Undeniably, 2017 taught me a lot of things.
