May 12, 2017 - my second day of my Bohol Travel. Originally, I was supposed to be attending the continuation of the SINHS Grand Homecoming. Morning on that day was a parade of the batches but I decided not to attend the parade because I want to go to Panglao. It has been six years, the last time I experience the beauty of Dumaloan Beach. And so, I left San Isidro and rode a bus at 6:00AM going to DAO bus terminal.

I arrived 7:30AM at the bus terminal and grabbed some bite. I waited the mall to open at 10:00AM so I can buy stuff that I can bring to Panglao.

Island City Mall A.K.A ICM is the only biggest mall in the Province of Bohol (aside from Bohol Quality and Plaza Marcela). It is located adjacent to the Bus Terminal in Dao, Tagbilaran City. Beside the Bus Terminal is the wet and dry market where you can buy fresh sea foods which quite affordable in comparison to the mall prices.

For you to get to Panglao Island, you have to ride a jeep via Panglao but make sure to ask if the said jeep will pass by at Dumaloan Beach to avoid waste of time since there are two routes which both pass Dumaloan Beach but one of those routes will save your time. The jeep leaves continuously when it’s fully occupied. The fair is amounting to 20-25PHP which takes 30-45 minutes drive. Just advice the driver to drop you off at the corner heading to Dumaloan Beach or you can just ask other passengers to remind you if you’re already there.

From the drop point, you can just go ahead and saunter towards the beach front. On your way, you can see a lot of eateries where you can buy “ready to eat foods”.  You can take a tricycle but I strongly recommend you to just walk since it’s just 10mins away from the main highway.

There are many resorts to choose from – Dumaloan Beach Resort (Public), Dumaloan Beach Resort (Private), Bohol Beach Club, Panglao White Beach – depending on your budget and needs. If you’re a shoestring traveller, then go to Dumaloan Beach Resort which is affordable of them all.  Tables, Nipa Hut, cottages and rooms availability are based on the demand; the prices range from PHP-200 (table) – PHP 3000 (hotel room) still depending on your stay – daytime, night-time or overnight. Charging station is also available at the frontdesk which cost you PHP20. This is being offered to those visitors who occupied the tables or Nipa hut as there’s no power provided on the top of the rent. Power is only provided if you stay overnight with corresponding price.

Availability of foods is not a problem because there are wide arrays of restaurants and bars at the beach. You can even go to another resort if you’re gonna eat there. If you decided to stay overnight then changed you decision later, make sure to leave at 7PM as public transportation going back to Tagbilaran City is no longer that many.

At 5:00 AM, May 13, 2017. I walked again heading back to the main highway to watch out for a jeepney going back to Tagbilaran. You can also ride a tricycle going to Dao Bus Terminal for a different price but make sure to haggle.
