They also produce antibodies to fight infection. But sometimes the tonsils themselves become infected. Overwhelmed by bacteria or viruses, they swell and become inflamed, a condition known as tonsillitis.

Hello everyone! Welcome back to my health and wellness vlog series.

In today’s update, I want to share a personal journey I’ve been through recently — my recovery from tonsillitis. This is Hospital Vlog 4, and I’m finally receiving great news from my doctor about my condition. 🙌

I was rushed to the Emergency Room at St. Luke’s Medical Center after suffering from high fever, throat pain, and difficulty swallowing. It turns out I was dealing with a bad case of tonsillitis — a common yet painful inflammation of the tonsils, caused by either a viral or bacterial infection.

Tonsils are those two tissue masses at the back of our throat that act as our body’s natural filter — but when overwhelmed, they can get infected themselves. In my case, I was given strong intravenous antibiotics immediately, and within a day or two, my symptoms started to improve. My fever was gone, I could eat soft foods again, and most importantly — my appetite came back!

The hospital also took some blood samples for a culture test to identify the exact bacteria, but because I responded so well to the general antibiotics, they didn’t need to use the test results anymore. My recovery was fast and smooth, and I’m truly grateful for the amazing healthcare team who looked after me.

This vlog isn’t just about my health scare — it’s also a reminder that early intervention, proper care, and timely medical support can make a huge difference.

Thank you so much for following my journey. Don’t forget to leave a comment, like the video, and subscribe for more updates about health, recovery, and real-life experiences inside the hospital.

Stay healthy and take care always! 💚
